Orthodontic Fact #8 Statistically Speaking, Over 1 million Americans over the Age of 18 Consult Orthodontic Clinics to Help Align Their Teeth.
If you are an adult who didn’t get to wear braces as a child or teenager, then it is time to visit an orthodontist to have your teeth straightened. New statistics reveal that each year over 1 million adults request information about orthodontic treatment. There are several great reasons for straightening your teeth, including improving your overall health with a better bite. Fixing your smile can also improve your self-esteem because you feel more comfortable when other people see your teeth. Aligning your teeth can also help to prevent other health problems such as headaches or jaw pain.
Many Adults Are Visiting an Orthodontist to Straighten Their Teeth
When you have serious malocclusions, you will need braces for your teeth, but today, there are orthodontic devices that are nearly impossible to see inside your mouth. You can wear color-matching ceramic or lingual braces instead of old-fashioned metal devices. Alternatively, you might have mild malocclusions that are easy to fix with Invisalign aligners that are made of clear plastic. There is a good chance that many of your friends are also seeking orthodontic treatments to reduce the gaps between their teeth, and you can share your experiences with each other.
